RE: President Obama at the 2011 HRC Fundraiser- hits gop candidates on Gay Rights~
I love how he called them out! You want to be the Commander in Chief?
Shame on every single one of them!!!
I was born a Truman, but you can call me Pat.
"They want to give people like me a two hundred thousand dollar tax cut that’s paid for by asking thirty three seniors to each pay six thousand dollars more in health costs? That’s not right, and it’s not going to happen as long as I’m President." Barack Obama

Yes he did! It was perfect the way stated it.. "You want to be the Commander-in-Chief? You can start by standing up for the men and women who wear the uniform of the United States..."
That's all over google.
And I made sure it was on Twitter too!! In 140 characters!!
"U want to be CIC? U can start by standing up 4 the men & women who wear the uniform of the US, even when it's not politically convenient."

RE: President Obama at the 2011 HRC Fundraiser- hits gop candidates on Gay Rights~
Anyway, there's more..
"He opened with a joke about his meeting last week with pop star Lady Gaga, who paid to be a guest at a campaign fundraiser in Silicon Valley.
"I held some productive bilateral talks with your leader, Lady Gaga," President Obama said, to laughter. "She was wearing 16-inch heels. She was eight feet tall. It was a little intimidating."
The President also spoke, of course, about the American Jobs Act, which he now mentions at every opportunity. It will offer LGBT citizens opportunities for jobs, he said, as well as provide legal protection for them. The President closed by urging HRC to work with him--but did not mention bedroom slippers. Change will happen, he said."

3 mins 41 secs of the good stuff!
That was brilliant! Wrenched a tear or two..which reminds me of a comment I read on theobamadiary. So, I retrieved it..
by fancieful..
"Now, as an old African American dyke who has been outraged by the Choi’s and Aravosis’ I cannot tell you how proud I am of the celebration, gratitude and applause at this dinner. Oh, not just because of lesbian rights—although I am pleased that the president speaks in the validating language of love and encouragement, but because I am also dependent on Medicare and Medicaid and Social Security and all of the benefits of our national safety net. I am not merely or only gay. I, like so many others of my peers am representative of a host of different qualities that cross different demographic realities. And the gays and lesbians that I have demonstrated with in anti-racist and anti-imperialist struggles would not dare call the president or the black community a racist epithet. It is the inclusivity of these struggles for social justice that has brought me to support candidate and President Obama. He has a heart, character and courage and speaks out of those values—to ALL groups.
In African American churches and schools, there are gays and lesbians; in gay and lesbian organizations there are Blacks and Latinos, in economically disadvantaged communities there are people of all races and sexual identities and gender realities. This is the picture of the patchwork that is America. It is what I live and have no choice but to fight for if I want to live. It is what the president sees and it is this vision that is the hope for America if we want to survive and prosper."

RE: THANK YOU ALL! Due to technical difficulties I missed most of his speech...

I had to turn off CNN right afterward because Aravosis immediately started bitching about how PBO had not come right out and announced he is in favor of gay marriage etc etc ad nauseum. Even the little I got to hear was so contrary to what Aravosis was saying: references to continuing to work to end DOMA, references to "a father realizing he not only loves his daughter but her wife." Maybe Aravosis could hear better if he removed his head from -- well, you know.
I hope I can get to hear the whole of PBO's speech at some point; perhaps it will go up at whitehouse.gov in the next few days. What I've heard so far is wonderful.
The video is on the HRC website.
Enjoy!!

Oh yes, I read in the comments on The Obama Diary that the teabagger station, cnn, had that hater aravosis on right after Pres Obama's HRC Speech. Giving it the Breitbart propaganda treatment.
We're going to do this in spite of corporatatemediawhore$$ at cnn and the profiteering professional left a$$holes.
Can you imagine what people thought, who were there and actually heard PBO speaking, of a whining hater like that avavosis?
Read the comment upthread from "fancieful" to get an idea.
