 Ologo Howard Fineman: Obama's Got (Found) Game
<snip>

"People who play basketball with Barack Obama say he's more dogged than flashy, more determined than skillful, more adaptable than unique. He'll trash talk on a dribble-drive with Reggie Love, but in the old days he was a studious, unselfish passer with classroom colleagues at Harvard Law.

And often, they say, he ended up with more points than you thought he'd have. No one noticed until it was over.

As in basketball, so it is now: his life on the court is a parallel to the first two years of his up-and-down-and-now-sort-of-up-again presidency."

<snip>

"He's been called a Socialist by the Tea Party and a Wall Street toady by MoveOn. His public standing is weak; the public thinks the country is headed in the wrong direction. Beltway-wise guys think he can be had.

But through dogged patience, and adaptable style and a refusal to panic, the president has piled up the longest list of new laws, treaties and administrative actions anyone has seen here in decades."

I hope they keep thinking that way. Big Grin

While I agree with the premise of the article, it still pisses me off to read things such as "his public standing is weak". Do the idiots that keep throwing this shit out there stop and look back to see where Obama stacks up against prior Presidents at this point in time?

Higher than Reagan, higher than Clinton and so on. Oh well, I guess I should be happy that Fineman wrote anything good about the man.

You and me both, Baltoman! Moveon called him a "wall street toady"?! Shame on them.

Even old Ed Schultz gave a full throated mea culpa tonight on his tv show. He actually considered that Obama as president might actually know more than a talk show host. Facepalm How convenient for Keith Olbermann to be off the week that he should announce himself, the WORST PERSON IN THE WORRRLD! Angry

I wouldn't celebrate HuffPo (The Drudge Report of the Left) too quickly. Alongside FDL, they have been more vicious than most rightwing outlets.

I need to see some sustained support for Democrats and this administration from these guys before I'll give them a slap on the back. Trust me, Fineman and his ilk are just looking for the next big thing to try and undermine this president.

And the stupid people keep underestimating him, over and over again. His detractors can't make anything stick, and are starting to sound more and more irrational in their criticisms.

They keep saying these outlandish things about the man, and are confused and dismayed when Mr. Obama totally ignores them, and continues to push his agenda forward.
