The debate: The nuts were in fine form.
Huntsman said Perry was "treasonous" for saying the border couldn't be secured.

They all want to privatize Social Security.

The Newt didn't fight with the moderator.

Bachmann will get rid of Obamacare.

The same ol from Cain.

Santorum was his self-righteous self.

Perry was the punching bag...he did a lot of correcting.

Paul scored some points with the war.

Mitt was rather ineffective. Nothing he said stands out.

The audience was predominantly white, I'd say 98%. The questions were mostly not answered, the candidates just did their own stuff and skirted the questions. They behaved fairly well.....for nuts. Rolleyes

The only thing I got out of it is that it is now well established that Tea Party supporters will actually cheer at the thought of someone who can't afford medical care being told to pay or die.

That and Newt thinks of 9/11 remembrance as a "celebration."

I don't see one of them really coming out in front. Perry got waled on with several things and smiled like a dork. They all scored some applause, but not for being rational.

They don't need to be rational to get the Republican nomination. In fact that might serve as a detriment.

Some sanity would be nice, though.

More seriously, this did make the race fairly clear. Bachmann is the totally insane one. Romney is the "serious" one. Perry is the stupid one. The latter also happens to be at least a perceived front-runner, so he'll be attacked pretty hard by the others for awhile, particularly by Romney (and Paul, though he barely counts).

Even the Republicans can see these crazies for what they are - nutbags paralleling Weimar Germany.

Confirmed, Fox "news" makes you stupid

The ones you are noticing are more terrified than anything else. They are lashing out because they are comfortable; and to acknowledge what is happening is a threat to that comfort. Ignore them, for they are not the voices that will rise in the coming days, months and years. They are not the voices of our collected humanity. They are the old voices of fear and impotence. - Anonymous

The 3 Biggest Lies Uttered In The CNN/Tea Party Express GOP Debate

1). Lie: Rick Perry’s Claim That The Stimulus Created Zero Jobs

The Truth- According to a report by the non partisan CBO the stimulus created 3.7 million jobs.

2). Lie: Herman Cain’s claim that, “Obamacare Will Raise The Cost of Healthcare.”

The Truth: Healthcare reform is expected to lower premiums by 25%-28%. There is no evidence to support Herman Cain’s claim.

It goes on to rank the debaters. I just don't get anything out of Mitt, but they ranked him second.

How about Mitt's..

“Latino’s looking for a handout should vote for democrats” has ended Willards chances of ever getting near 1600 pen avenue. Already DWS is quoting it, and that means it’s going to be used in commercials come general elections".

He musta thought that was a real vote getter in the primary. Uber Stupid.

Here's some good news..read on TOD..

"CNN proved after the debate – through the same CBO figures that we’re all familiar with – that the stimulus created either 1M+ or 3M+ jobs, counted either by new jobs or jobs saved. They claimed Perry’s statement was FALSE.

Debbie Wasserman Schultz was interviewed by Wolfie after the debate. She said that the ACA did not steal $500M from Medicare; that it actually MADE MEDICARE SOLVENT FOR AN ADDITIONAL EIGHT YEARS.

Anderson Cooper said CNN will fact check everything over the next 24 hours. Not much help to those who watched the debate, but will not be tuning in over the next 24 hours.

I am livid."

Wolfie needs to go to moderating a debate school.

cnn set them up to tear them down?!

I didn't see the debate, but from what I gather, Perry is proving to be inept. As for Romney, it's clear the tea party hates him. I think if he wins the nom, then Sarah Palin runs as a third party candidate. I think that SP is staying out of the race for that very reason. I cannot imagine that she would quit halfway through her term as governor and NOT run for president. But then again, how logical and rational a person is she?

Principles alone do not put food on the table.

My tweets during the debate:

HootervilleHoll:

When Paul was practicing medicine weren't they still using leeches?

Ron Paul: Pray you don't get sick.

Rick Perry: I'll err on the side of life except executions of course.

Rick Perry: I erred on the side of Big Pharma.

For some of these folks you'd think the Dept of Education was already abolished.

Someguy: MeMeMeMeMeMeMe (Santorum)

Newt: Let's all hate on Obama!

Huntsman: We have to get our lies together or we will lose.

Herman Cain: Give SS beneficiaries pizza.

Who will taze the other one first? (Romney/Perry)

Romney has found his inner Rambo. LOL!

"I'm Herman Cain: I'm the only non politician on the panel tonight." (Only because I couldn't get elected to the Senate)

RE: The debate: The nuts were in fine form.
Chris Cillizza has another take on winners and losers last night.

WINNERS
* Mitt Romney: Four debates. Four times Romney has wound up in the winner’s circle. It’s not a coincidence. Romney proved yet again that he is the best debater in this field with another solid performance in which he effectively downplayed his liabilities on health care and accentuated his strengths on jobs and the economy. Romney played more offense than he has in previous debates, taking the fight to Texas Gov. Rick Perry on Social Security. He also got a major assist from Rep. Michele Bachmann (Minn.) and former senator Rick Santorum (Pa.), both of whom relentlessly bashed Perry. But that’s how debates work. Romney also, smartly, ignored the tea party audience in the hall — who occasionally booed him — and focused his messaging on the much broader audience of people watching the debate on CNN.

LOSERS
* Rick Perry: The frontrunner didn’t get it done tonight. After surviving the expected back and forth with Romney over Social Security, Perry seemed to let his guard down a bit when the subject turned to his executive order on the HPV vaccine. Big mistake. Bachmann lit into him and Santorum jumped on too. (Romney said nothing but had to be thrilled with the development.) Perry tried to emphasize that he was acting to save lives but it didn’t sell. Following that exchange, he looked flustered and missed a chance to go after Romney in a more meaningful way on health care. And Perry’s answer on illegal immigration drew boos from the audience. Looking for a silver lining for Perry? He demonstrated a willingness to clean up self-created messes on both Social Security and his “treasonous” remark about Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke.

The rest ranked at link>> http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/the-...l_politics

How he can rank the Newt as second is beyond me! And I still get nothing from Mitt....yet he is the winner. I am missing something there, or I am comparing him to PBO and he can't make the grade.

Yes.

Winners and losers in this debate must be determined from the perspective of the Republicans and within the context of the Republican primary. Obama is relevant to that in the sense that Republicans must decide who they believe has the best chance to beat him, but within a closed debate that element is low on the measurement.

That said, I don't get the bit about Newt either. It's as though he gets a thousand points just for showing up and not raping anyone ... on stage anyway.

Outside the context of the closed debate system itself, no matter who wins, we lose because this slate of candidates continues to make a mockery of the American political system.

I wonder if the teaparty voters are looking for the most scary or the most sane. Perry definitely the most scary, next to Bachmann. Mitt the sanest, but the look on his face says insanity to me.....he has no personality. What do middle of the road pubs think of this bunch?

I think middle of the road Republicans were mostly busy watching a football game last night and don't give two shits.
