Michele Bachmann's campaign manager quits, says she's the 'third candidate'

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Republican presidential contender Michele Bachmann lost her campaign chief Monday, along with his close deputy, in a campaign shake-up that the Minnesota congresswoman's aides sought to downplay.

<..> Bachmann is no stranger to top-level turnover. She has experienced frequent staff changes in her congressional office since 2007, and not just in low-level positions that typically see a parade of younger, inexperienced staffers bouncing from one office to the next.

She has had six chiefs of staff in four years, five press secretaries, five legislative directors and three communications directors.

Newt hasn't come back since his campaign leaders quit and I'm betting Bachmann won't either. She's evidently not easy to work for.

It probably takes a toll on staffers just getting her to practice not sounding batshitcrazy when she's out on the campaign trail.

I think she comes across like that too. Very passive/aggressive. That deadpan tone she gets when asked a tough question is flat out suppressed rage. I really think she campaigns like a robot, with canned red meat comments and nothing else. Who is the real Michele Bachmann? Scary.
