"Fertile Ground": White Nationalists Are Organizing Within the Tea Party
http://www.alternet.org/teaparty/152029/..._tea_party

From the article:
Quote: Addressing a rally in April 2011, white nationalist lawyer William Johnson lamented the media scrutiny he drew with his recent failed campaign for a judgeship in California.

"Ron Paul endorsed me for Superior Court judge, and I was on my way," Johnson said. "No sooner than I'd put my hat in the ring than ... it came out that Johnson is a white nationalist, that Johnson wants to create a separate white ethno-state, that Johnson supports the 14 words of [white power domestic terrorist] David Lane, that 'We must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children,' and the media went wild with all of that, and Ron Paul withdrew his endorsement of me...because he did not believe in a separate white ethno-state and he didn't know that I did."

A white ethno-state? The 14 words?

Johnson sounded like he was at a neo-Nazi conference, as in 1986 when he addressed the Aryan Nations World Congress. But the banner hanging over the stage was not a Swastika flag. It read: "Tax Day Tea Party."

The April 16 rally in San Juan Capistrano, California, corresponded with more than 100 Tea Party rallies scheduled across the country for that Saturday. It was promoted on the website of Tea Party.org, also known as 1776 Tea Party, one of six well-established Tea Party umbrella groups. Its true organizers, however, were from American Third Position, or A3P, a white nationalist political party founded by racist skinheads. A3P did not respond to repeated inquiries for this article. Neither did 1776 Tea Party.

Since April 2010, A3P members have organized, co-sponsored or freely distributed literature at no fewer than 10 Tea Party rallies in six states, including Augusta, Georgia; Harrison, Arkansas; Baton Rogue, Louisiana and throughout California, where A3P was founded in May 2009 by Freedom 14, a racist skinhead crew seeking to establish a more respectable-seeming political front group.

Although it would be unfair to characterize the Tea Party movement on the whole as white nationalist, it's clear that large gatherings of angry, conservative, predominately white Americans are viewed with relish by groups like A3P.

"The Tea Parties are fertile ground for our activists," said A3P Pennsylvania Chairman Steve Smith. "Tea Party supporters and the A3P share much common ground with regard to our political agendas."

At least two of the Tea Party rallies where A3P has distributed white nationalist literature were organized by local chapters of Tea Party Patriots, the largest Tea Party group in the country.

...

When most of the teabaggers sound like KKK members or sympathizers on camera, they have big PR problems. That is, if they don't mind pandering to racists. If it quacks like a duck...

If the teabaggers don't like being called racists, they've got a lot of work to do, and having the obligatory One Black Friend ain't enough.

Good grief, what kind of person is Ron Paul? We think he's a racist, I guess this makes it fact.

These white nationalists are sickening. Thanks for the article, it is something that the public needs to be familiar with because they are evil people.

Good point! Another mark against Ron Paul. This racist scumbag shouldn't be considered a serious candidate by anyone on the political left. Nono

Dennis Kucinich loves Ron Paul, but then again, as both Councilman and Mayor of Cleveland Dennis Kucinich wasn't above playing racial politics way back when, either.

Makes it easier to understand why the idiot takes shots at Obama at every turn. He don't like his skin color. I wish the fuck Kucinich would just drop the damn D after his name. I don't like racists in my party.

This is the one thing that irks me the most about the dewy-eyed St. Dennis groupies, they never, ever look back to see what type of person he was when he first entered politics.

I am from NE Ohio, have lived here my entire life, and I still remember the campaign Dennis first ran as a councilman in his heavily Eastern European immigrant, ethnic, racially xenophobic ward...he promised those people Blacks would never be allowed into their neighborhoods if he was elected Councilman, and he kept his word by voting against a low-income subsidized housing project.

Dennis then went on to play the mostly Black East Side of Cleveland against the West Side Irish-American political power structure...all Democrats, mind you, but it's how he kept his job as mayor. keeping any perceived enemy off balance.

Those that hate Rahm Emanuel never met Kucinich's Executive Secretary as mayor, Bob Weissman, a man with a mean streak a mile wide, petty, vindictive, foul-mouthed and abrasive to friend and foe alike.

He did all the political dirty work St. Dennis didn't have the stomach to do for himself, a real hatchet man.

He makes Rahm Emanuel look like a choir boy.

Weissman tried to pressure the then Chief of Police Richard Hongisto to 'punish' Kucinich opponents on City Council and to reward police jobs to Kucinich supporters with "questionable ethics." In turn, Kucinich charged Hongisto with insubordination and fired him.

Dennis is the farthest thing from a saint, he's a political opportunist of the first order, and a real piece of work.

The things you've written about Kucinich have opened my eyes. Before, I thought he was just an ineffective little elf man. But after seeing you write about his dirty tricks, I'm glad that he's marginalized himself so effectively.

Great read, Brewman. I laugh now when I remember the number of "liberals" who were encouraging others to join forces with the Tea party. Many black people who mentioned the obvious racism within the tea party were called "race baiters." They should wear that label as a badge of honor.

RE: "Fertile Ground": White Nationalists Are Organizing Within the Tea Party
Tom Tancredo's racist screed at the first teabagger convention should have been enough to make aligning oneself with the tea party a career-killer. But MSM just yawned.

Thanks for posting this. It really brings home that the impetus for the tea party movement is not based on "taxed enough already," but on pure racism.
