An election year story for your Independent friends on the fence
One day, long in the past, you meet someone who charms you. They promise you the moon and the stars, You fall in love, and marry.

One day, your new spouse starts a shooting feud with not one but two neighbors, for absolutely no reason whatsoever. Now you have to look over your shoulder whenever you go outside, for fear of being attacked.

Then, you slowly realize that your in home privacy is diminishing. You can't be alone in a room anymore, even in the bathroom, without your spouse wanting to see what you're up to.

Your bank account starts to shrink, you are maxing out your credit cards because your spouse is spending the money on new weapons to use against the neighbors.

One day you find out that your spouse has actually been hoarding income to spend on his small circle of rich friends. You work harder and harder to make ends meet, but you're losing ground and the spouse has no interest in helping your predicament.

You begin to get abused, but shake it off and explain it away to friends and family by claiming your spouse only wants the best for you.

After four years of a worsening situation, you have a break down and begin to consider kicking your spouse out and getting a divorce. They plead with you for another chance. You give in.

Four years later, they have broken the bank. You have no money left, the bills are still mounting, and there is no work on the horizon. The house is a shambles, the vehicles don't run anymore. Your health is failing and you need care but cannot afford it. Everything is a disaster, and you finally snap. You kick out the spouse and get a divorce.

You meet someone new, who promises to repair your shattered life. In a couple of years, they have made great strides in fixing things, but the going is slower than expected.

One day, your ex shows back up at the door, cites the failure of your new love to fix everything, and asks for another chance.

NOW…WHAT ENORMOUS FOOL ON THIS PLANET OR ANY OTHER WOULD ACTUALLY GIVE IT TO THEM?

I'm guessing somewhere around 45 - 48 percent of the population.

Think they'll get it?

I was born a Truman, but you can call me Pat. Wave

KonaKane you just reminded us about how short memories are. I guess we'll see in 2012, but until then I'll be reminding them of those 8 years of terror....and not the kind that came from the skies.

Jaxx I have never been able to figure out the Abused Spouse Syndrome this nation's voters seem to suffer from in regards to the GOP. If someone can explain it to me, I'm all ears.
