10 Things to Remember When Forming A Rational Political Opinion
1. Life is not fair. Not everyone's situation is the same as yours. You have advantages you didn't earn and disadvantages you don't deserve. Be aware of your privilege.
2. Nobody has complete, absolute control over their circumstances. It is not always their fault if they are poor, or rich, or in-between 3. Everybody has some degree of control over their circumstances. Sometimes, if they are poor, it really is their fault, and sometimes, if they are rich, it really is because they worked harder. 4. Complex problems do not have simple solutions, ever. 5. Complex problems are not caused by one thing, ever. 6. All problems affecting the whole of society are complex problems. 7. There is no fool-proof system of government or economic theory. If a government/economy is filled with corrupt assholes, it will fail to be effective no matter what kind it is. 8. Inefficiency in one or a few government programs does not mean all government programs are inefficient. 9. Corruption in one or a few corporations does not mean all corporations are corrupt. 10. There will never be a political candidate you absolutely agree with 100% of the time, it's okay to vote for the one you are most compatible with. http://apostasyone.blogspot.com/2011/08/...rming.html NOTE- Number eleven was wrong and was deleted by me “Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do.” Benjamin Franklin |
