Let's talk about an OLD MOVIE!!!!
In 1993 there was a movie that was introduced to the viewing world that stirred up as much controversy as the Bush Tax Cuts or Sending Dubya/Shooter to Federal Prison. Okay maybe not that much controversy. Now I suspect the Advertising agency helped the controversy along but this particular movie questioned the integrity of a man and a woman. If you don't know this movie then you may even be to young to join in this conversation.

The movie is INDECENT PROPOSAL.

My Questions: Given today's economy and the culture we live in right now, How would this Fly???? Would a couple take such an offer??? And what would be your reation to an INDECENT PROPOSAL???

To those who don't know the stars of the movie are Robert Redford,Demi Moore,Woody Harrleson,1993.ThinkThinkThink

In all honesty, in my opinion it's their business and not mine. I felt that way when the movie came out and your question was raised at that time as well. If all involved are willing, consenting adults who am I to say what anyone should or should not do it.

I wouldn't but that's just me and no reflection on those who would choose otherwise.

RE: Let's talk about an OLD MOVIE!!!!
The economy sucked in 1993 too. A lot of us couldn't even begin to imagine a boom like we had in the later 90s. The 70s and 80s had been a long stream of factories closing, declining wages and skyrocketing housing. I think if the movie had come out in prosperous times people would have seen them as immoral greedy slime. But because so many were hurting financially, or were just coming out of it, they could see where someone might be tempted by a million dollars.

I also think to movie was a statement about relationships and ownership, but that's a different discussion.

Edit:

I thought you were going to talk about an OLD MOVIE, like The Grapes of Wrath or something. Indecent Proposal is a new(er) movie to me, lol.
