Obama press conference on negotiations with House GOP
Anyone else watching this?
Obama is doing a great job of making Boehner look like an unreasonable ass.

It's streaming live here.
http://www.whitehouse.gov/live?utm_sourc...n=shorturl

He's telling Congressional leaders to show up at 11am tomorrow to tell him how to raise the debt ceiling.

I love it! He told Boehner to get his ass to the WH tomorrow and explain how the deficit ceiling is going to be raised and how a deal is to be reached.

He said Boehner didn't even return his phone call.

The Republican Party has to ask themselves "Can you say yes to anything?"

The President is pissed. Left at the alter twice, and can the pubs say yes to anything. Really puts Boehner as being unable to control his party.

This makes 4 times the pubs have walked. Coburn walked out on the gang of 6, Cantor walked out on VP Biden and then on PBO negotiations, and now Boehner walking out on the POTUS. What a bunch of ineffective asses.

I'm loving my President and his stance against obstruction.

I like that he asked whether they were serious about cutting the deficit or if they want to have it as an election issue in 2012.

They are not serious, they don't want to put military and Pentagon budgets on the table.....I had this discussion with Republican coworkers...you know what they said? We need the bloated budget to keep America safe? But then I said, but you said cutting the budget was important?.......around and around we went...

It's now clear that the public signals about Obama being willing to make minor cuts to SS and Medicare was part of a strategy to show the public how unreasonable Republicans are being.

The vast majority of voters who don't read whining bloggers will see this.

This is a point I was trying to make earlier. Obama knows what he's doing. He knows this is just a game to the Repukes. How smart is he for throwing the SS and Medicare stuff in? I'd say pretty damn smart because the Pukes have nothing now to run home and slam Obama with.

Well, they will to those who won't watch or listen to the President but as you said, the vast majority will now know it was never about SS or Medicare to the Pukes.

Translation of Obama asked for more tax hikes = letting Bush taxcuts expire for the rich and closing loopholes on big business.
