If you didn't see Elizabeth Warren on
Rachel Maddow's show tonight then try to catch it. Great interview!
So we've been inundated with the "jump to conclusions about Obama betraying us" routine because Obama committed the horrible act of nominating a progressive, pro-consumer advocate to head the consumer financial protection agency. Elizabeth Warren completely shut down Nader and others who are attempting to sabotage the progressive change Obama is making.
Warren mentioned her
White House Blog post, which is must read. Here's a clip for those who haven't seen it yet.
Quote:The President put the consumer agency in his first outline of financial regulatory reform, and he never wavered in his support for it. The agency was declared dead several times, and weak versions and lousy bargains were offered again and again, but he stood fast. When he signed Dodd-Frank into law, creating the new agency, he offered me the chance to stand it up -- something for which I will always be grateful. The fights continued, and again, the President never wavered in his support. In fact, just last week he issued a veto threat if the Republicans try to move the agency's funding to the political process, and I know that in the future he won't allow opponents of reform to succeed in weakening the CFPB.
On the show, Warren challenged us to take this fight to the REPUBLICANS who have fought her every step of the way. Hear that Ralph? Hear that firebagger bloggers? The person you falsely claim to speak for wants you to stop attacking the President who has fought hard for her and instead start attacking Republicans who are the real problem. In other words, get a fucking clue and end the circular firing squad!
