The Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has ruled that the U.S. government must immediately stop enforcing the military ban on openly gay service, despite the Pentagon's insistence it needs time to gradually implement the change.

The Defense Department is taking steps to "immediately" comply with a court ruling to end enforcement of the "don't ask, don't tell policy," a Pentagon spokesman said on Wednesday.

"We will of course comply with orders of the court," said Defense Department spokesman Marine Col. Dave Lapan in a written statement. The Pentagon will "immediately" begin to inform personnel in the field of the order and is reviewing the ruling with the Justice Department, Lapan said.

Good Point. I try to remind people that these events are occurring because of the "President Obama Environment". You have to have the right environment.

it would not be happening without President Obama! his calling it unconstitutional, asking it not be fought for in courts, and prodding Congress to get over it ....
