Angryfire During Bush's terms, the debt limit was raised 7 times.......
with many, many Republican votes.....

As ThinkProgress pointed out, during the Bush presidency, the current GOP leadership team voted 19 times to increase debt limit. During his tenure, the U.S. national debt doubled, fueled by the Bush tax cuts of 2001 and 2003, the Medicare prescription drug plan and the unfunded wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. And Mitch McConnell and John Boehner voted for all of it and the debt which ensued because, as Orrin Hatch later explained:

"It was standard practice not to pay for things."

So why aren't Democratic activists with the help of the professional left spreading this particular set of facts to everyone and their mother, and contacting the media "en-masse" to ask them why this fact isn't part of their debt limit refrain on every single evening news broadcast from now on till August 2nd....and why aren't they unmercifully attacking Republicans hard and forcefully on these facts 24/7?

Please help spread the word to as many voices as possible who can make sure that our public opinion includes an understanding of the actual history of the bullshit we are currently witnessing from all out Republican Hypocrites!

Rome wasn't built in a Day,
this shit didn't happen overnight, and 30 minute sitcoms are only on TV!

True, but that misses the point that...
it's not the debt that bothers them. The debt doesn't bother ANYONE-- there's no public outcry over it, it doesn't rate high in those "Our Real Problems" polls...

They are simply using the debt as an excuse to eliminate programs they don't like, and to further eliminate a President they like even less.

And they have come up with the fascinating idea that if you can't pay your bills, you should reduce your income and the bills will magically pay themselves.

The goal is to make PBO a one term president. They will do anything to get that Black guy out of office.

Consider the word spread - now and close to the election.

We need to beat this drum over and over again.

Confirmed, Fox "news" makes you stupid

The ones you are noticing are more terrified than anything else. They are lashing out because they are comfortable; and to acknowledge what is happening is a threat to that comfort. Ignore them, for they are not the voices that will rise in the coming days, months and years. They are not the voices of our collected humanity. They are the old voices of fear and impotence. - Anonymous

Thanks for the research, Joan. Yes, they're(idiot cons) trying to screw Pres Obama anyway they can. This probably seems like a mighty fine gift to them.
