DFP: Thursday, June 16th Daily Thread
Good morning DFP! Closing in on the weekend with lots to do. Starting to heat up here in the Mojave. Ugh! Not looking forward to our 100 degree + days, but when I get back from my trip in early July, am putting up an above ground pool.

Have the new deck built down by the bedroom. Yes, my house is upside down.

The pool will sit on the slab where I used to have a jacuzzi.

Put one of our BBQs down on the deck level. Now the grandkids can swim when they're over and Grandma can cool off during the day. Will have to get Bo a life jacket as most pugs sink like a rock.

That looks great, I'm sure it will be beautiful when you are done! I'm sure you and yours will have many happy times at this oasis you are building. Awesome.

Cloudy and such here today, high 60's. We're suppose to be back with sunshine and mid-70's tomorrow. Early summer is wonderful here, not too hot usually. Soon Traverse City will be invaded by crowds of visitors. The National Cherry Festival brings massive crowds and it's one big party here. Traffic can be frustrating but other than that, it's a lot of fun.

We had our first 110 degree day of the summer here in Phoenix. Nice.

Our house has an inground pool. The water is finally warm enough to start paddling about the pool in the morning.
ahhhh.... morning swims, also knownn as "Arizona Showers". Big Grin

Sounds wonderful! I'm curious as to how warm the pool will be. It's a small 10'x10' Zodiac my oldest daughter is bringing up. I'm looking forward to cooling off in it. After installation I'm having a safety rail put up on the deck. The yard the slab is in is fenced off already.

Our house has no A/C but last night I saw a commercial for the Mitsubishi Comfort units like many european homes use. No ducting. I think this will be my last year without A/C. Evaporative coolers work great here, except during the monsoonal weather we get a few weeks in the summer.

Our pool gets pretty warm in the summer; 92 degrees or so is not unusual. It's like bath water.

A/C is as necessary on the desert as heat is in the winter in northern areas. I couldn't do without it.
