"The Republicans want spending cuts, the Democrats don't want cuts"
A White House reporter for MSNBC just said that. The anchor didn't challenge the reporter.

This is what passes for serious reporting these days.

Somebody shoot me.

Banghead

Now a Republican is claiming there was a "clean bill" that "went down in flames" (no mention that it was a joke), the anchor barely challenged him "you knew that it wouldn't pass" was all she said.

Can we just stop pretending we have a media in this country?

Confirmed, Fox "news" makes you stupid

The ones you are noticing are more terrified than anything else. They are lashing out because they are comfortable; and to acknowledge what is happening is a threat to that comfort. Ignore them, for they are not the voices that will rise in the coming days, months and years. They are not the voices of our collected humanity. They are the old voices of fear and impotence. - Anonymous

The thread title of this thread is missing on latest threads...might be due to the " " around the title. FYI.

It went down in flames because All of the majority party voted No on it....how hard is it for a reporter to say that.....it's beyond pathetic.

Conflating the Republicans desire to hold the debt vote hostage to cuts versus the Democrats desire to keep these separate, such as to imply that the Democrats don't want to cut spending at all is just as infuriating. It's god awful reporting. Banghead

RE: "The Republicans want spending cuts, the Democrats don't want cuts"
This all starts with the implicit assumption that cuts are even necessary, which they're not.

You will find no reporter asking that question.
