Warning to Republican presidential hopefuls:
Warning to Republican presidential hopefuls: Support Ryan plan — or else

For Republicans running for president in 2012, there’s a new political reality: Support Rep. Paul Ryan’s budget plan — or else.

Newt Gingrich learned that lesson the hard way. After the former House speaker criticized the Medicare overhaul included in Ryan’s proposal as “right-wing social engineering,” conservative criticism rained down on him.

<..> In the aftermath of the Gingrich episode, former Utah governor Jon Huntsman was forced to get specific about the Ryan budget on Friday. He told ABC’s George Stephanopoulos he would have voted for the plan, “including the Medicare provisions.”

<..> “One candidate’s shakedown leaves the party shook up,” said Tucker Eskew, a longtime party strategist. “The reckoning was coming anyway, but this episode starkly reminds campaigns that entitlements are on the chopping block.”

WoW piss on the neediest and toe the line. Who will dare to say Ryan is wrong the next time......nobody!

Don't see them getting that far with this
Libertarian principles are not that strong for most people. They are not likely to vote against these entitlements so they can have a pure theory realized.

RE: Warning to Republican presidential hopefuls:
True. They're setting up a while list of issues like that. Like, deny climate change science - or else. If anyone strays from orthodoxy they'll get a public flogging on Fox and talk radio.

There used to be a time when a moderate could win without licking the boots of Fox News. I don't think that's true anymore. The tea party and talk radio cult are too powerful now. The good news is that they're all being forced to go much further right than the majority of voting Americans.

I think the "voters" are going be the ones who say it the next time! Everything they are doing on the right seems to be aimed at helping the rich at the expense of the rest of the country, and that is "NOT" going to work come election time!

What I see now is the right giving away just about everything to the rich and the big corporations. They want to "privatize" the whole damned country state by state so their rich corporate donors can get control of things to increase their "profits"! I don't really see this playing out well for the GOP as a whole, maybe those like Walker in Wisconsin will get a "new job" when they get voted out of office, but in general it just doesn't make sense to take from the poor and give to the rich!

Even the brain dead crazy far right wing of the GOP are going to figure out what is going on sooner or later, at least once they have lost all their "perks" like SS, medicare, jobs, etc.!

Let's hope the people in his district send a message loud and clear in 2012.

Confirmed, Fox "news" makes you stupid

The ones you are noticing are more terrified than anything else. They are lashing out because they are comfortable; and to acknowledge what is happening is a threat to that comfort. Ignore them, for they are not the voices that will rise in the coming days, months and years. They are not the voices of our collected humanity. They are the old voices of fear and impotence. - Anonymous
