Still getting used to the new look - but Benen's come a long way baby!

Wow, I hadn't gone there yet today..woke up went to ExtremeLiberal and here.. and saw your post on the new Benen Blog! I like and it will take a little getting use to after years of the other way. I couldn't wait to X out all those pop up ads of anything from Koch to "Obama care".

Good morning, jane Smile even though I know it's not in NY.

Good morning, Cha! Smile

Those ads were the most mind-bending thing to me when visiting Benen's blog - on the one hand, there was some of the most well-reasoned, up-to-the minute political commentary from Benen, on the other, there were the most ridiculous and offensive anti-Democratic Party ads from Koch & Co. So glad that seems to be gone for good! I like the new format, but the feeling of "intimacy" is gone -- but that's probably a good thing - Benen is so consistently excellent, his work deserves a great-looking platform and hopefully, it will attract a wider audience.

A little later I went to the comments section for the first entry and there were so many regulars there who did not like the new look. One said it's best viewed with Ray BansCool Others telling Steve to change it back! We'll see what happens..they must have had a reason to do it like they did. I did like the blue and the gray color scheme, though.

I found this, jane.."New And Improved" with 144 comments..
At the end Steve invites us to "let us know what you think". Smile

Reposted with Author's Permission..

No, you didn’t accidentally go to the wrong site. There’s no need to check the url. I’m thrilled to report that the redesign of the Washington Monthly’s site is complete and online.

We’re going with a “soft launch” this weekend, unveiling the new site and working out any kinks that may arise, and then formally kicking things off on Monday morning.

Until then, take a look around, kick the tires, and let us know what you think. Political Animal is still right here on the home page, just as before, but you’ll no doubt notice plenty of other features and content. I’ll have more on this on Monday morning.

Also note, there’s a new commenting system. It’ll take a little getting used to, but it’s a more reliable system, which will, among other things, greatly reduce the amount of spam.

As for the weekend schedule, my plan is to maintain the normal posting schedule today and tomorrow.

So, enjoy the new-and-improved site and us know what you think.
