How The Bin Laden Story Broke Inside Citizen’s Bank Park (Phillies & Mets)
This guy - Jerry Brennan - who writes for a Philadelphia sports site, was on CNN telling how he was at a Phillies and Mets baseball game on Sunday. He was checking online, and saw the news of bin Laden, and alerted the fans around him in the stands.

Bit by bit, the "USA, USA" cheers got louder throughout the stadium, as more people were checking their phones & pdas to see what was going on. The only people who didn't know, were the players on the field.

It was 10:25 pm the Phillies offense wasn’t providing much entertainment, so I did what most Phillies fans under age 30 do at boring Phillies games, checked Facebook.
...
Ten minutes later I saw on my cnn.com app that Bin Laden was killed. I yelled out to my entire section “Bin Laden is Killed we got him!”
...
A few moments later a few sections in right field attempted to get a USA chant going, but it was to no avail, the majority of the stadium was still perplexed. The consensus among people who had yet to hear the news about Bin Laden, thought it was just a bunch of drunk idiots chanting USA for no rhyme or reason.

Phillies second basemen Pete Orr looked the most confused, I saw him looking back at right field at the fans chanting USA, and in my opinion he had to be thinking “what the hell is going on?”
...
short version

longer version, as the news makes its way around the stadium

Cool
