"Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek." Barack Obama
Ok.. this is a very minor complaint but I really wish Obama didn't rap his hands down on the podium when he speaks. It thumps pretty loudly through the microphones.

THIS drives me insane! I have a subwoofer and it startles me over and over again (thump!) as he habitually drops his hand on the podium. Somewhat surprising to me that somebody on his staff hasn't noticed this little oddity & how much of a thump is heard in houses across America. Perhaps they could place a pad of some sort to drop his hand on
The ones you are noticing are more terrified than anything else. They are lashing out because they are comfortable; and to acknowledge what is happening is a threat to that comfort. Ignore them, for they are not the voices that will rise in the coming days, months and years. They are not the voices of our collected humanity. They are the old voices of fear and impotence. - Anonymous

All that hand thumping gives me a sneaking suspicion that a pic of Boehner or Cantor is taped to the top of that podium...

If a cartoonist doesn't jump on that image within the next 24 hours, I am going to be very disappointed.
The President just made an ass out of Trump and asses out of every fuckin birther in the country. Let them howl, they were dead wrong. Cantor is out there saying the President wasted time on this.....the smarmy good for nothing.
I am pissed. Pissed at the freaks on the right who are the lowest denominator with half a brain. And really pissed at the namby-pamby MSM who kept this at a boil.

I wonder if they will now question Hawaii's statehood! You can't convince RushBots and BeckHeads and CombOver idiots with facts ya know?

I cried when I heard this this A.M. I am so ashamed as an American that our president felt he needed to do this. I understand he considers the birther issue a distraction, but I've always been keen on garroting the rightwing with it.
I wonder what my nutball cousin thinks of it -- but I don't wonder hard enough to remove him from my spam filter for his latest piece of spew about our President. Haters are haters and there's absolutely no reasoning with them.
I loved Obama's line about "sideshows and carnival barkers". And that he called out the media about their part in it.

You'll notice that the birth certificate issue never died, while GW Bush's* discharge papers and questions of his Air National Guard service were squashed immediately and with resounding force. Racism and partisan politics are obvious.

Looks like truth and facts are relative.
Good point, Brewman! Dan Rather was fired over it!
