Tell me again it's not about racism
[Image: george-w-bush.jpg][Image: barack-obama.jpg][Image: Donald-Trump-6103592.jpg]

Which one of these three men has NOT:

1. Filed for bankruptcy for his business(es)
2. Filed for personal bankruptcy ("personal ruin")
3. Failed one or more businesses they started up
4. Been aided by his dad's money or position in his early business life
5. Broken the law

Now, which one, based on your answers, is most qualified to be the Chief Executive of the United States?

Post this in a wingnut site, and watch their tiny brains fry at the conflict and implications.

But that Obama ... he's hidin' somethin', fer sure. He's just got that look about him. Shifty.

The preceding is a dialectically accurate quote of something someone had the misfortune of saying to my face recently.

RE: Tell me again it's not about racism
My only argument against it being racism has always been that Obama's the only Democrat on that list, and that I would refer you to what they did to Al Gore and John Kerry for a rebuttal. Remember the Swift Boating? Remember the flip flops? Remember the "he's a phony because he says he invented the Internet"? Remember the direct mailer saying Kerry was going to ban the bible?

No doubt, there's some racism involved here, but I think it only flavors their rhetoric rather than create it. If Obama were white, he'd still put up with 75% or more of this bullshit.

Yes, but then the 25% left is absolutely ridiculous, like producing his BC only to have it still doubted and new, more absurd theories come up.

I could, but it wouldn't be true.

I wish that Trump would take that dead muskrat off his head. President Obama has it heads and shoulders above those two clowns. And I don't just mean in terms of height.

RE: Tell me again it's not about racism
What the press and the right wing (one and the same these days) are doing to Obama is simply the newest iteration of the Poll Tax and Voter Tests they used to pull on Black people. In the bad old days when Blacks first got their right to vote recognized, some White man would be at the door of the poll station and issue a verbal "exam" for a Black person to pass before being allowed in to vote. These questions were out of reach for most White people of the time, let alone a poor Black person who had been kept out of the educational system. They went from the difficult to the absurb, like demanding they guess how many pennies were in a huge jar at the poll entrance. The whole point was to make it so ridiculously difficult to pass the test that they would be denied their vote.

The same thing is going on in a sense with Obama. They keep raising the bar out of his reach. No matter what good he does, it's not enough. No matter how he outdoes his predescesors, it's not enough. No matter how he overcomes his challenges, they are evidence that he is somehow deficient or not qualified for his job.

I have never, ever seen the likes of this in a president. To deny that it is the emergence of racism is to stick one's firmly in the sand, or some other place much smellier.

RE: Tell me again it's not about racism
It's always been about racism with President Obama, he has broken the mold and they can't stand it. We have seen the old racist language come out from under the lid, language polite society stopped using years ago. Today it's accepted by those who think the same thing, and no longer bother to hide. A growth in backyard militias, full of hatred. States ran by republicans threatening to secede, the old states rights bit.

It's ugly and it's real.
