Happy 5th Birthday, Mass Health Care Law!
Gov Romney signed Massachusetts health care into law 5 years ago today. Different groups have been celebrating with birthday cake today, and thanking Mitt.

Massachusetts democrats additionally created a video thanking Mitt Romney. The clips are from just after he signed the bill into law:

More on that story:

In a normal country, without so many wackos, that video would be a huge positive for Romney, and actually garner Romney votes. It actually is a good example of a Republican governor working with a Democratic legislature, for the common good.

That's the part I can't believe. What is wrong with this country when so many people are brainwashed into thinking that healthcare for all is bad?

Note: I wasn't a huge fan of Mitt Romney when he was governor. He seemed logical at first, but ultimately it was apparent that his aspirations were somewhere outside of Massachusetts. Regardless, he actually did one good thing when he was here.

Cool

Is he trying to run away from it now?

More or less
He's trying to avoid bringing it up. Then if someone asks, he says it's not at all the same as the national health care law - it's built for that state only. It doesn't play well with the republicans who want to repeal the national law, as they see the Massachusetts law as what the national law is based on.

I don't understand that line of thinking. If it was good for Massachusetts, why wouldn't it be good for Mississippi? Or Oklahoma? Romney is acknowledging that Romneycare worked on the state level. Why not in all 50 states?

Oh, that's right--because teabaggers hate affordable health care more than they hate death and disease, and he has to cozy up to them.
