Bristol Palin and "The Situation" explain safe sex.

All I really wanted to do was punch them both in the mouth. I'm all for not having sex, having safe sex, not having babies, yadda, yadda... but having Bristol Palin, who is already a mother (and is rumored to have been pregnant one or two more times) turn "The Situations" condoms down because she "just avoids situations" is asinine. Angry

The Jenny McCarthy one was even wierder, but didn't have these two losers in it. And there was that odd one with all the pink baby carriages lined up with that one guy joining the cause-- undoubtedly in the mistaken hope that he could finally get laid.

"Candies Foundation"? The shoe company? Some quick goggling shows it is, and that they paid Bristol $265,000 for that and who knows what else. No word on what "The Situation" got for his part.

I'm really getting getting sick of instant celebrities who, in a just world, couldn't keep a job pumping gas but are cashing in on their uselessness.

So true. If Bristol hadn't been who she is and had the advantages that go w/it, she'd probably be working in a Wal Mart or some such place. Which is yet another reason why I think these ads fail.

Setting the abstinence message aside for a moment (which btw is a ridiculously impracticable one, in and of itself, imo) how many single teenage mothers does anyone know who can make $265k in one year? If the people producing these ads want to show the true realities of being a young single parent, why not choose someone who is truly representative of that demographic?

Such a role model! And she made $262,000 for talking about not having babies too early? What a tool!

RE: Bristol Palin and "The Situation" explain safe sex.
One of my favorite shows "Private Practice" covered an issue like this in their last episode. What they did though, was show three teenage girls who "made a pact" to get pregnant together because it was an "instant status and constant love." It doesn't matter is Bristol Palin and the Situation flirt on a commercial and then don't have sex... there are children out there that need to LEARN why they need to wait to have kids. LEARN what sex brings and causes. "Just saying no" doesn't work because sex is not a damned drug to avoid... it's what everyone does, at some point in their lives...
