Ologo Sources: Obama set to launch re-election bid
This makes me very happy.

Quote:WASHINGTON - President Barack Obama is about to make one of Washington's worst kept secrets official: He wants a second term.

Democratic officials familiar with the president's plans said Saturday that Obama intends to file papers as early as this coming week with the Federal Election Commission to launch his 2012 re-election campaign. He also will announce his candidacy to supporters by e-mail and text messages.

The president isn't expected to face a primary challenge.

They want a Democratic primary because they think it will draw attention away from the three-ring circus that will be the Republican primary.

RE: Sources: Obama set to launch re-election bid
I was hoping to surprise everyone with this news Tuesday when it actually happens. Primary LOL. That is a complete manufactured campaign created by republican operatives, many posing online as "progressives" Go to some of these proleft websites and witness the disinfo campaign in all its glory. We did a bit of figuring over at the Illuminati Grill and deduced that at most there are about 10,000 active daily poster/participants in the blogosphere. Even if there were ten times that, that would be 100,000. How many votes did President Obama get last time? 69,456,897. Do the math. The blogosphere is statistically insignificant. Albeit quite vocal.

I've been pretty active in Democratic politics for a while around here, and I have yet to hear ONE person bring up a blog or discussion board. Netrooters and Blogospherenicks may think very highly of themselves in their incestuous little groups, but so far they really don't count for shit.

Sorry to steal your surprise. I think we all knew our President would run again. It's always good to get the conformation especially when so many so-called lefties were speculating that Obama wouldn't run again or he would be primaried. This news should shut them up at least temporarily.

RE: Sources: Obama set to launch re-election bid
Hillary, Dean, Feingold, and Kucinich have all said they aren't running. Oh but the fauxgressives will just say if it weren't for the "corporofascists" Obama would be primaried and then we'd have a True Liberal™ president.

I'm delighted that his re-election campaign is being run from Chicago (where I live). Lots of strong Obama supporters in his adopted home town.
