After saying a mural depicting Maine's labor history would remain in place until it found a new home, Governor LePage had it taken down quietly, over the weekend. The Lewiston Sun-Journal reports that it's not clear where the mural is now that it's gone from the Department of Labor lobby. The Portland City Council is considering moving it to City Hall.

Meanwhile, the local Portland Press-Herald sends a message to Maine Governor Paul LePage, after he decided to remove a mural depicting the state's labor history. "Governor's decision attracts attention, repels tourist," the paper writes. Karen Moore of Menlo Park, California, wrote Mr. LePage an open letter, including:

"Because you have chosen to jump on the national Republican-led, business-inspired bandwagon attacking working people and the middle class, we have decided to go somewhere else this summer."..

If I had less to do in the days, I would use my painting ability and some quick on the go paint supplies, and guerilla paint some mural scenes from American labor history around the town.
