RE: "Opportunist Arianna Huffington Reverts to True Colors"
I never bought into her "progressive" phase. And, while I have read HP if I followed a link to a news story or in a post, I have never gone there directly. I never understood why Bob Cesca wrote for her.

It does not seem as though Cesca is independently wealthy. Sometimes, you just need a job. I know from the outside looking in, it's easy to think you shouldn't ever work for someone you don't 100% align with, but the reality is that unless you're insanely lucky or independently wealthy, you work for whomever will give you the best platform (to build you future career) and money to pay the rent.

Huffington Post yanks Breitbart from front page
3/24/11
http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/plum..._blog.html
After standing by Andrew Breitbart yesterday, the Huffington Post has made the decision to yank him from their highly-trafficked front page, in the wake of some vicious comments Breitbart has since made about former White House adviser Van Jones, a HuffPo spokesman confirms to me.
HuffPo had come under increasing criticism for giving Breitbart a major platform from groups like Color of Change, which argued that he has a history of racially-charged and factually-challenged political activism that has no place on a reputable news and opinion site. While Breitbart will still be allowed to post at HuffPo, the decision to yank him from the front page and downgrade his visibility effectively gives the critics what they’d asked for.

UPDATE II: Color of Change hails the decision in a statement:
“ColorOfChange.org applauds The Huffington Post’s decision to no longer give Andrew Breitbart a prominent platform for his so-called ‘journalism’. Breitbart, whose entire career is built upon ‘reporting’ lies and falsehoods disguised as news, should have never been given the opportunity to present himself as a legitimate journalist or opinion-maker ....

i am disgusted and enraged that he has not been completely banned. unbelievable trash, his comments about Van Jones ...

Wow, nofurylike, thanks for the update! It's stupid that huffnpuff is keeping notsobreitbart around but at least his ugly face is gone from the front page. I remember signing Color For Change's petition to get him off and my comment didn't hold anything back..the words racist bigot were definitely involved.

yes! "We all made a difference!" thank you for bringing me around to that precious aspect of this, Cha!!
i am glad to hear you were so direct and blunt in your comments on the petition! "racist bigot" is entirely the fact!

Out of curiosity, did Huffington ever actually say anything on the website itself? I saw her giving a lot of interviews, but I don't immediately recall having read anything of hers that expressed an opinion.
The site itself has always been crap. Their blatant click-coveting publishing tactics were/are annoying to say the least. I hate linking there in the off chance someone does post something worth reading. Given the model for acquiring "guest" authors, it's bound to happen. I think I recall reading a number of pieces by Al Franken there.
I wish the notable people and quality authors who offer their pieces up for basically nothing to the site would quit it. That would reduce its influence right quick.

And therefore absolutely appropriate for the shyte pile called Huffington Post. They should have let him stay there.
very good point, KonaKane.
it does underline who they are, that he is there. and he is still there, just off the front page ... for now.
