Anybody see MTP Sunday? I just caught a very late broadcast of it and was stunned when Chuck Todd - not my favorite talking head - actually asked Daniels why he and Bush Jr. didn't pay for the wars or Medicare Part D. Not surprised that Chuckie didn't ask about the giant deficit caused by Jr's two monster tax cuts, but I digress.

Daniels said that it - paying for the wars and Medicare Part D - would "hurt the economy."

This weasel-like version of a potential 2012 presidential candidate, someone whom I've heard touted as having "the right stuff," is going to be easy peasy for President Obama to crush in 2012.

No question that for Republicans it's all about winning elections and not about what's best for the nation.

How can they claim to be serious about debt when they will not raise taxes on the rich and will not cut military spending? Obviously they have ideological motives.

I am amazed how so many people can't see through this austerity ruse.

Making sense has never been one of their goals. They only care about creating wedge issues. The real question is why people are stupid enough to listen to them or to let them govern.

They are not fit to govern.

Which is why the wars never were a part of the budget. They really do think money grows on trees!

I am not impressed at all by Daniels. Some libs were talking him up as a potential threat to Obama and the guy has about as much personality as a cum stain.
