Earthquake in Japan.... thread 2
It's now reported the earthquake is the 5th strongest in the world since 1900.

And a nuclear power plant is in trouble as the cooling system is not working. People for 3 Kilometers around are being evacuated.

Japan had only 10 - 15 minutes warning before the tsunami hit. I've been watching the pics of it sweeping across the country. Horrifying doesn't begin to describe it.

We watched this at work all night on ABC. I can't believe the magnitude of the quake and the devastation. The tsunami roaring through was horrid, huge, and pushing everything in front of it on into oblivion. All I could think of was OMG those poor people, shaken so badly and then drowned in a tidal wave. I heard the USA is sending in help asap. I think the world will help, it's just so awful.

I'm way inland in the high desert. Wave headed for California now according to MSNBC and just saw that two feet of water is enough to move a car. Anyone heard from Kona? Cha, SNS, hope you are both okay and can check in soon. And thank you nofurylike for being on watch for DFP!!

I was born a Truman, but you can call me Pat. Wave

I just read through thread 1 and hope everyone in danger is safe. I'd be scared to death if I was in your shoes. Be well, be safe, and come back as soon as you can.

My son heard about it last night on the internet and we turned to MSNBC and watched the waves come inland and sweep away cars, planes, anything in it's path, it was terrible!

I have been up since 6am PST watching TV. This is a terrible disaster, I feel so bad for the people of Japan!
