I can't believe it!

I can't believe it!
I read read over on the "other" board that there were 800,000 fewer people who turned out to vote in the 2010 elections in Wisconsin, 800,000! Walker won by around 125,000 votes. It was pointed out that if just 20% of that 800,000 had taken the time to vote for the other guy, Walker would have lost!

This is what happens when people stay home to "prove a point" or think that both parties are the same, so why bother to vote! I saw so much of that kind of thinking in the 2010 election, and numerous posters on the other board who were actually promoting people to stay home and not vote. Wisconsin was not the only place that this happened. States were taken over by the republicans, and they took back the house. As was stated in another thread here, I hope those who didn't vote are happy now!

Makes you question who the real DINOs are.

I was born a Truman, but you can call me Pat. Wave

No question, that whole meme killed us. It's similar to the "they are all the same " meme you hear from 3rd parties and paid republican operatives. That whole thing was articulated online, first boosted by the 3rd party types and pumped up by the right wing paid astroturfers, and then vomited back by the easily led well meaning lefties.

Now look at the shit we have to deal with.

I don't think those lefties are well meaning at all. I think they want the President and Democrats to fail so that they can bring in their 3rd party. The centrists haven't called for a primary and they haven't called for a 3rd party. The miserable, disappointed far left have gone to the far left parties....and are trying to commandeer the Democratic Party because it has clout, while the socialists and the greens are barely into the calculation.

Piss on them, and their delusions of taking down the USA.

He...he...it is a wonder! They will never admit they screwed all Americans because they threw a temper tantrum!

Yes, it's should have been obvious that they are NOT all the same! Those who came on line and promoted that meme, and who also promoted people to stay home and "not" vote, did their job. It's just to bad so many fell for their BS!

The fortune the Koch Brothers spent on negative ads served to suppress Democratic voter turn out. It was money well spent as they now own the state of Wisconsin

How true. Now we can all see what is happening, but it's a bit late now. I just can't figure out how anyone could think letting the republicans take over would be a "good" idea!

I read that there were reports of around 100,000 in Wisconsin today to protest, so it looks like at least the republicans have woke the sleeping giant!

What they've got in Wisconsin is akin to a dime in a pocket full of hundred dollar bills.

What they really managed to do was get people elected to Congress who are hell bent on dismantling the EPA and shredding the social safety net.

Wisconsin is a part of it that, thankfully, has gotten some attention. But there are still bigger issues at stake.

RE: I can't believe it!
Reality check...

I just goggled last years Wisconsin turnout and at a little over 50% it's one of the highest off-year turnouts they've ever had.

Now, I don't know who it was that turned out in such big numbers, but judging from my back yard it might have been teabaggers over there, too. Meaning yes, we should have gotten more people out even though it seems like it's not the suppression of Democratic voters, but energizing the great mass of nonvoting, non-affiliated middle.

We have to refine our message and start earlier.

The same people over there who claim there is no difference in the parties also parise the Wisconsin 14 to the high heavens. They're Democrats, folks.
