Over Two Billion for an Election!

Been hearing that Obama has already raised a billion and the other guys aren't that far behind-- with two years yet to go.

Then there's the House, some Senators and Governors, and all those state and local races.

Now, this could be seen as a "stimulus plan" to goose the economy prior to the election, or it could be a backdoor way to tax the rich, since they're putting up most of the money.

More to the point, though, would be to see it as disgusting. Even more revolting is that this is happening in a "Cut Spending" year where essential services are being cut to the bone and states claim to be facing bankruptcy.

I'll never live to see the day when we limit campaigns to few months and limit campaign spending, but I have a dream...

This is really the big issue in politics today, and it's sad more people don't see that. Want money out of politics? It ain't the lobbyists that matter - it's the campaign donations.
