Support Shuler and Cooper's effort to end Gerrymandering

My Congressman, Jim Cooper, sent me an email update that included info on Redistricting Transparency Act (H.R. 419) and this link: Cooper's Website on HR 419

This has been tried several times before, but since there are many Dems and Repubs who both use Gerrymandering to remain in power there is not much chance to succeed unless the people demand it and pressure Congress to pass it.

The first step is to get the word out. I have heard nothing about this proposal until I got Cooper's email.

Honestly, I don't have a lot of hope for this bill to pass, but it certainly doesn't hurt to TRY!

This is a good start, and something that should be replicated for state legislative districts as well. In 2001-02, the NH House Republicans were so hell-bent on rigging districts that the state supreme court threw the entire plan out the window.
