GOP star Gov Christie's mismanagement cost NJ it's credit rating
GOP star Chris Christiie's mismanagement of the NJ has cost the state it's credit rating

http://www.nj.com/news/index.ssf/2011/02...uld_a.html

Quote:TRENTON — New Jersey’s bond rating was downgraded Wednesday by Standard & Poor’s, a move that could add significantly to the state’s borrowing costs and focuses even more attention on public-employee pension and health care payments.
The agency dropped New Jersey to a rating that is among the lowest in the country. According to S&P, the only states with worse credit ratings are California and Illinois, widely considered to be in the steepest financial trouble.

As is typical of GOP politician this poor job performance made Chis feel entitled to attack the President who's job performance is taking the nation in the other (better) direction:

Quote:PHILADELPHIA — Gov. Chris Christie chided President Obama today for focusing on "candy" while larger problems like underfunded pension systems and failing schools remain unsolved.
Christie made the remarks after receiving the Lincoln Award from the Union League, a Republican stronghold in downtown Philadelphia. In his State of the State speech last month, Christie said it’s time to do "big things," a theme echoed by Obama in his State of the Union.

It would nice for the GOP to actually accomplish something positive and back up their claims of superiority.

Someone should remind Christie that the underfunded pension systems are largely creations of local and state governments entering into those agreements with their unions. And he should also be reminded that a strong case can be made for local control being one of the biggest factors inhibiting educational achievement levels.

In other words - those are YOUR problems that YOUR people created. Can Obama do something about failing schools? Sure - and he is. But let's not forget who ultimately controls New Jersey schools and pass the responsibility onto someone else.

It looks to me like the pubs are making a lot of bad decisions. They have been in their newly elected offices just a short time and the messes they are making will be far reaching. The teabaggers won't like the nopers losing money and prestige.

Ah...you smell that fine money management skills of the Republican leadership...?

Chrisitie is incapable of linking any new efforts that the President is proposing to jobs.....with more jobs.....bigger tax base....and it goes on and on. By the time Chrisitie is done the state will be in worse shape then Tx was when Junior was Governer.

The people got what they voted for.

Gov Christie needs to get his own house in order before he goes mouthing off about anyone else's job.

Looks like Gov Jerry Brown and Gov Pat Quinn have their work cut out for them because I know as Democrats they will be trying very hard to get their respective states in the good credit column again.

Once again, GOPer's prove they have no clue as how to govern.

Talk is cheap, and finger-pointing leaves you wide open.

Sorry, I should be more sympathetic for the People of NJ. Then again, they're the ones who elected him. They made their bed....

So, here's a big Grouphug for those who voted against him, a big "told you so" Redbanana and a big Spank to those who voted for him.
