In an unexpected appearance at CPAC Thursday, businessman and television personality Donald Trump said that America needs a winner to run against President Obama in the next election - and libertarian icon Ron Paul isn't it. (CBS News)

sorry, no article at that link. that is a video. there will be better sources .... they're popping up everywhere.
turns out trump wowed 'em at CPAC.
the ... uh ... family values party.
RE: Trump at CPAC: Ron Paul can't win (trump may run)
Trump would be something like Perot - can't really win, no political experience. Being President is not like being a CEO.
Paul is too extreme to get even all Republicans. Independents, forget it.

thank you, and for those comforting words, Treestar! especially "can't win" and "forget it."
here's hoping!

exactly, jaxx!
he does have republican family values, though. i was recently informed that all they need to know about someone is that he hates women and children.
that would explain a lot, wouldn't it? like why commiting adultery never derails their careers, etc..
thank you!

Not only family values; he's gone bankrupt a few times. Used to be a client at my old company and the stations put his account on "cash up front" when we took it over because he stiffed them.
I was born a Truman, but you can call me Pat.

I was gonna say that I don't want a man who has filed for bankruptcy as much as he has running our country. A billionaire perhaps, but a cheat no doubt. The man is a fraud in my opinion and I have no respect for him at all.
But having said that he does fit into the Republican mold and sadly, idiots will vote for him because they'll ignore how he gets away with not paying his damn bills and just see that he's a billionaire.
Sadly I feel our country is slipping back into the W days...........stupid and dependent on FOX Snooze for their information.

Hubby and I were just talking about this last night. How in the hell does this guy have any credibility at all, but let somebody bounce a check and they can't even get a job again. It's ridiculous. All he does is file bankruptcy on every project he's involved in, never has to be accountable for anything.

i can't stand it!
o jeez, bankruptcy? and he "stiffed" your old company? yet he stiill has all that status and privilege?!
you know that saying from Being There? "Just goes to show you, all you got to be is white in America ... ”
to keep inherited privilege, never earned in the first place, even if you are mean, and misogynist, and racist, and classist, and as dumb as a post ....
RE: Trump at CPAC: Ron Paul can't win (trump may run)
The number one thing I don't understand is how this guy can keep saying what a success he is when he inherited $200 million from his father.
How many people are going to fail after they inherit $200 million?
A friend of mine was on The Apprentice and she has a FaceBook about it. She was touting something about how successful Trump is and I made mention of his inheritance. I was aggressively ignored.
I think that someone who touts themselves as being a financial or business genius ought to disclose that fact. But what do I know?

i'd say you know more than whoever sees that as "success."
those who receive, and embrace, unearned privilege seem to always have to delude themselves, and others, that it is some kind of accomplishment of their own.
and too many fall for that, such as that friend you mention.

Trump has shown how serious he is by showing up at a convention for cons.
I don't want his republicon "family values" anywhere near our White House. We have a real family in there now who actually is an inspiration for our country and the world.

Ha! The Donald is a big fat fake. No way he is going to actually run, he just likes the camera on his rodent face. Let's sic Rosie O'Donnell on him, she'll clean his clock.
