for every two weeks they are in session. I don't have a link to a story; I'm listening to it on Rachel Maddow's show.

She also showed the House calendar, which is filled with things like holidays, and "Constituent Work Week" (that's the weeks they are not in session).

And apparently, when they are working, they aren't working on job-related issues. They are pushing bills restricting abortion.

Buncha lazy, lying assholes!

Thanks to those voters who listened to the propaganda demonizing Nancy Pelosi being spread all over the airwaves. I saw and heard it myself before I left NY..well, this is what they get and the rest of us have to suffer their brainwashed results.

I know. I hope Rachel tries to find out what activities the "Constituent Work Week(s)" consist of. My guess would be fund raising, hobnobbing, and -- for Boehner anyway -- going to the tanning salon.

There is an upside here.

The GOPers will have less time to inflict damage to the legislative progress made over the previous two years by the Democratic congress.

Not that they much chance of doing real harm anyway. But the T-party hasn't figured that out yet.

Rachel's story was right on here - R's talk big hype to get elected, then do nothing. Nada. Shit.

Since Republicans hate government, why to people elect them into it?

Confirmed, Fox "news" makes you stupid

The ones you are noticing are more terrified than anything else. They are lashing out because they are comfortable; and to acknowledge what is happening is a threat to that comfort. Ignore them, for they are not the voices that will rise in the coming days, months and years. They are not the voices of our collected humanity. They are the old voices of fear and impotence. - Anonymous

And, why do they run for government office if they hate government?

Oh wait. I think I know the answer.

The Republicans see the US Government as their personal ATM machine, and they want to get in line and cash out as much as possible before their time is up.

I couldn't believe it when Rachel said they work 2 weeks and then take a week off. The teapartiers ought to love that one. Do they realize what they voted into office?

The Republicans are certainly a lazy bunch. It makes sense though, as they lie, cheat and steal their way into government power, the same government they claim to hate.
