Dimwitted Fool, I take it that you're referring to Kirsten Gillibrand? She's not up for reelection in 2016--she has to run again in 2012. Her 2010 election was only to confirm her for the last two years of the term; the 2012 election will give her a full term expiring in 2018.

You're right-- I completely forgot this last election was just to fill out Hillary's term.

(But I still think it's bad form, no matter how common and perhaps necessary, to send out the begging cup so early.)

I'm clearing the beggars out of my email. Every time I get one bashing Obama, out they go. At the rate I'm going now, by 2012 I won't have to worry about giving money to anybody but Obama, lol.
