There is hope, even for the Westboro children!
Improbably as it may seem two of the grandchildren of Fred Phelps have left the Westboro Baptist Church and are apologizing for the things they have done and promise to strive to follow a new path in their lives.
Two different sites tell the story: First is Andrea Peterson at Think Progress. A more in depth story can be found Fast Company in an interview by Jeff Chu. From the Think Progress piece; Quote: “We know that we’ve done and said things that hurt people. Inflicting pain on others wasn’t the goal, but it was one of the outcomes. We wish it weren’t so, and regret that hurt. "In a time of universal deceit telling the truth is a revolutionary act." --George Orwell |
