As noted in the article, the Top 1% get the infrastructure and the other benefits of life in the USA without having to pay for it. The repubs are paid shills for them, that's the main reason I can think of for their near-desperate need to work for tax cuts for the Top 1% (that they don't pay) in favor of piling the financial burden on the 99%. What the repubs can't cut in gov't spending, they want to privatize, see the USPS. Either way, it's in the favor of the Top 1% and the rest of us are out of luck.
