Kashmiris warned to prepare for possible nuclear war
I find this story from the AP more than a little disturbing.
Quote:SRINAGAR, India (AP) — Officials in Indian-controlled Kashmir are warning residents to build bomb-proof basements, collect two weeks' worth of food and water and be prepared for a possible nuclear war. As someone that lived through the "duck and cover" days of the 50's I find this chilling. These two nuclear nations share a lengthy border and they have been at odds over control of Kashmir in that border area for decades. Recently the worst fighting in 10 years erupted between them in the region. "In a time of universal deceit telling the truth is a revolutionary act." --George Orwell |
