From the U.S. Senate to the ER in one afternoon
Don't try this at home, boys and girls. I have been running on empty for a few days, now, but there was so much stuff I wanted to do. I was invited to a few swearing in receptions at the U.S. Senate today, for 3 Democratic women I had supported during the campaign.

No too slick. I collapsed in Sen. McCaskill's office and was brought to the Senate infirmary in a wheelchair, and then by ambulance to Georgetown U Hospital. No big problems, but they did suggest I get a good night's sleep. I had to ask what's that.

But before my system gave out, here are some pics from Capitol Hill today. It was a GOOD day for Democrats in the Senate.

With newly minted Sen. Mazie Hirono of Hawai'i:

My brother and me with surprisingly re-elected Sen. Claire McCaskill of Missouri.

EVERYONE dropped by there. Harry Reid, Chuck Schumer, and look who else!!

Thanks, Jeff
I should be fine. It was a memorable day until about 2:15 PM anyway!

It was worth it to get all those great photos Big Grin

Confirmed, Fox "news" makes you stupid

The ones you are noticing are more terrified than anything else. They are lashing out because they are comfortable; and to acknowledge what is happening is a threat to that comfort. Ignore them, for they are not the voices that will rise in the coming days, months and years. They are not the voices of our collected humanity. They are the old voices of fear and impotence. - Anonymous

OK DFW, say it with me...S....L....E....E....P. It is what you do after you voluntarily close yours eyes while your laying on a bed.

B....E....D. A large soft rectangular piece of furniture sometimes used for SLEEPING.

Nice pics BTW. Looks like you had a grand time.

pappy.

PS Judging from your pics I'd say you could be my "long lost brother" if I not for the fact that he was an only child. Same beard (but mine has more gray), same ..... ummm...paunch, same hairline......Grin

Can't say I blame you for not being able to sleep. Those are some pretty exciting goings on.
But duuuude.... take care of yourself. You owe it to family and friends to stick around awhile. Hug

Chuckle Follow up funny story
This morning, my cell phone rang. "Private number" OK. I picked up.

The voice on the other end said, "This is the U.S Capitol letting you know that you have a nine gazillion dollar bill on the way for your ambulance ride in Washington last week."

I was laughing for a while before I said, "Hi, Howard."

Like him or not, but the good Doctor/Governor still does have a wicked sense of humor

After all, everyone knows that if an ambulance ride is within the same city, they don't bill a cent over eight gazillion dollars.

Okay, finally, DFW, we have a mutual acquaintance. -- Well- sort of -- I met the "good Doctor" during my time as a Dean-iac volunteering for his campaign events in the Big Apple. "People-Powered-Howard" - ah - those were the days. Smile

Love the one with sen. Hirono. It's like a picture in a picture.

"People-Powered Howard!" I love it. I'll have to call him and ask if he remembers being known as that ten years ago.
