RE: And it's over the cliff we go!
Ass hole Republicans.
Confirmed, Fox "news" makes you stupid
The ones you are noticing are more terrified than anything else. They are lashing out because they are comfortable; and to acknowledge what is happening is a threat to that comfort. Ignore them, for they are not the voices that will rise in the coming days, months and years. They are not the voices of our collected humanity. They are the old voices of fear and impotence. - Anonymous

RE: And it's over the cliff we go!
It's been a slow burn, but today's the day I finally make it official -- I really don't care for Luke Russert as a pundit. First, I listened to his uninterrupted Rick-Santelli-style two-minute-or-so rant on MSNBC's The Cycle earlier today, in which he went on and on with a "both sides are to blame" nonsensical argument, and now this tweet:
Out of everything he could have highlighted, this kind of dumbery is what he chose.
This entire episode is the House's fault. This entire "cliff/debt ceiling/sequester" nonsense is the brainchild of House and Senate Republicans.
As for the bill that the House "don't have" -- they've blocked a bill since July 2012 that would have prevented this ginned-up crisis and lowered taxes on everyone except for the likes of their precious Kochs and Adelsons.
Russert's tweet makes it official for me -- the man comes across as an idiot.

Unfortunately, that doesn't sound THAT paranoid or crazy. You never know what to expect from Boehner, Cantor, et. al

RE: And it's over the cliff we go!
While a lot of others bash politicians relentlessly, I've always found it interesting to watch them make changes in their attitudes, their stances as public opinion changes. At the local level, you see the City Council/County Commissioners vote YES on some unnecessary project only to discover that 300 people have packed the chambers to protest at the next meeting. Suddenly, they relent and change their votes and the project gets shelved or changed substantially.
You see Obama making the change in his stance on gay marriage over the past year.
But, the Tea Partiers are not politicians, they're simply ideologues who managed to get elected in a strange year and care little for what their constituents think or want. They don't want to participate in politics, they want to draw their really nice Congressional salaries, enjoy all the perks and spout their ideology.
If Republicans were wise, they'd ungerrymander the whole lot of them and let them go the way of those who usually don't pay attention to the electorate--back to being just one more voter.

Looks like the a-holes are trying to add spending cuts to the bill.

And now the Returds appear to have caved and will vote for the Senate bill.
