WASHINGTON — America's slow climb from the depths of the Great Recession appears well under way.

As fears of a double-dip downturn fade, even the most pessimistic experts are asking how far and how fast will the U.S. economy recover this year?

It does look like things are starting to improve. If they do though I am sure Obama will get no credit.

You're right, Julie. He won't get credit. Some don't remember his campaign, let alone what he had to say about a recovery timeline. We are actually right on schedule in most areas as far as I can tell, and further ahead in others. The repayment of TARP isn't getting the attention it should, for example.

Don't be so sure. Even if the media doesn't, an economic recovery on Obama's watch will cause voters to unconsciously credit him for it whether they realize it or not. They measure a President's success on the "what have you done for me lately" scale, remember?

That's how it happens..stuck in neutral for so long and then all of sudden things begin to pop!

The corporatemedia won't give President Obama any credit they're too busy scrounging around after teabaggers but that's one of the reasons we're here..to get the word out. Thanks Babylonsister~

"But after losing nearly 4.7 million private sector jobs in 2009, a gain of 1.1 million new jobs in 2010 is undeniable progress."

I agree. Hopefully, this will only continue.
