RE: Sunday Talks, 12/23/12
LaTourette had this to say about the possibility of Boehner losing the Speakers job in January;

Quote:like saying the superintendent of the insane asylum should be discharged because he couldn't control the crazy people.

On the failure of Boehner to pass his own bill this week he said;

Quote:I don’t know what the number is but say the number is 40 out of 240 – that’s not a repudiation of his leadership. That’s the same 40, 50 chuckleheads that all year … have screwed this place up. And he has done everything in his power to make nice to them, to bring them along, to make them feel included, but it hasn’t mattered

By Republican standards LaTourette is considered a moderate. But check these tidbits out:

Voted YES on restricting interstate transport of minors to get abortions. (Apr 2005)
Rated 0% by NARAL, indicating a pro-life voting record. (Dec 2003)
Voted YES on terminating the Home Affordable mortgage Program. (Mar 2011)
Proposing a balanced budget amendment to the US Constitution. (Jan 2011)
Supports balanced budget amendment & line item veto. (Sep 1994)
Maintain & enforce existing spending caps in the future. (Sep 1998)
Voted YES on Constitutionally defining marriage as one-man-one-woman. (Jul 2006)
Voted YES on making the PATRIOT Act permanent. (Dec 2005)
Voted YES on Constitutional Amendment banning same-sex marriage. (Sep 2004)
Voted YES on decreasing gun waiting period from 3 days to 1. (Jun 1999)
Rated A by the NRA, indicating a pro-gun rights voting record. (Dec 2003)
Ban gun registration & trigger lock law in Washington DC. (Mar 2007)

He is retiring from Congress at the end of this term so now he gets brave and calls out some of his fellow Republicans "chuckleheads". Thanks Steve glad to see you finally got a spine on your way out the door.

Epic Fail = GOTV in 2014
