Boehner proves he's delusional
Quote: Boehner: No ‘Difference’ If Revenue Comes From Middle Class Or Super Rich

"Listen, what is this difference where the money comes from? We put $800 billion worth of revenue, which is what he is asking for, out of eliminating the top two tax rates. But, here’s the problem, Chris, when you go and increase tax rates, you make it more difficult for our economy to grow, after that income, the small business income, it is going to get taxed at a higher rate and as a result we’re gonna see slower economic growth, we can’t cut our way out of this problem, nor can we grow our way out of the problem, we have to have a balanced approach and what the President wants to do will slow or economy at a time when he says he wants the economy to grow and create jobs."

Despite Boehner’s rhetoric, there is no economic evidence to suggest that taxing income above $250,000 hurts the economy. In fact, business thrived during President Clinton’s tenure, as the wealthy paid more.

There is a clear “difference” to where the “money comes from,” however, and asking higher-income Americans who have benefited the most to pay more is fairer than gutting critical entitlement programs during a slow economic recovery.

The American people have voted TWICE to get rid of those tax cuts. What do we have to do to get these Republicans to do the people's will?

He may not be so much delusional as he is cynical and corrupt. ugh.

Bonehead probably watches Fox like the rest of them, and like the rest of them, actually believes what he hears. He's probably still not fully convinced Romney won't be taking the oath of office on Inauguration Day, which would explain the rigidity of his position.

He thinks he'll be working with a new president.

In a way, he would be right. The new, self-confident, determined Obama is someone he has never confronted before. He's in for a surprise.

No doubt Boner is especially panicky right now. He knows his best chance at a deal is this month. If he waits until January, more Dems will be seated making his position in bargaining even worse. And yep, Obama is more confident. He knows he'll have a few more good Dems at his back. I love it.

RE: Boehner proves he's delusional
I think the entire Republican party needs a 12-step program.

Maybe Boehner can understand this difference.

The working classes from poor to upper middle class will get hit twice from the Republican plan (maybe even three or four times).

First the end to "loopholes" will hit undoubtedly hurt those folks much harder than the highest earners since they spend much more of their earned income for basic sustenance. EIC, mortgage deductions and child credits make a mush more substantial difference for those earning below $250,000 that for those above that level.

The second hit will come in the form of cuts to assistance that they propose to everything from food stamps to college tuition Pell grants and loan guarantees.

Then the possible third and fourth wave of hits will come later in life when cuts to social security and medicare take effect.

What the Republicans propose is to slap the workers of this country with a series of devastating blows designed to keep the rabble in their place while rewarding the job creators Lords and Ladies of the Aristocracy.

Epic Fail = GOTV in 2014

They're screwed.
They can't shout "Fiscal Cliff OMG!" and tout the need to cut SS and Medicare at the same time they're refusing to budge on increasing government revenue with taxes.

The average man-on-the-street can see right through that shit.
