4 More Years of This Socialist Governemt Bull****! The neo-con whine
This is the main reason a lot of my friends on the political right do not like PBO. A quote from one of them who is a database analyst for a hospital. From Facebook...

"That would be nice, but I get the feeling that Obama and the Democrats will take this as carte blanche to push through all their programs like they did Obamacare regardless of what the people want." and...

"Ok the main thing I don't like is that I can quite possibly lose my job because of it. That dislike covers just about any like. It's not my job to throw myself on the grenade so everyone can have free government controlled healthcare. So no blind railing here."

"My job is in-house accountability and research. If there is enough additional cost to my hospital, guess which jobs go away first."

"The only issue I have with that statement is that there will also be additional cost. And the Government will set the amount that can be charged and the insurance companies will pay less to hospitals, because they are a business and if they don't make a profit they will stop offering insurance pushing everyone towards the government paid for option of healthcare which of course will not pay more to the hospitals so the hospital cuts staff because they can't afford more than the bare minimal staff."

The standard laissez-faire pro-business whine. Big Biz has rarely done the right thing without gov't oversight and/or intervention. Government has to do a lot for the public interest because it does NOT have a profit motive or shareholders and investors and Wall St. to answer to. What the neo-cons are so blind to is that the reasons they lay out are often the reasons why gov't has to do the things that they so desperately hate.

So he works for a hospital that undoubtedly takes Medicare and Medicaid patients and therefore at least a part of his check comes from "socialist" programs.

He has accepted and probably only considered one side of the argument. He should consider how much extra cost for his employer is associated with having to deal with numerous insurance companies each of which has it's own forms, rules and payment schedules?

He does "in-house accountability" but thinks his job is in jeopardy by rules requiring more accountability? Sheesh! I have to stop now, my BP is going up.

No Justice? No Peace!

I don't why they're so insane over the thought of socialism, but Steinbeck nicely sums it up: “Socialism never took root in America because the poor see themselves not as an exploited proletariat but as temporarily embarrassed millionaires.”

Willful ignorance is a stubborn, frustrating thing.
