RE: Boehner
We shall see.
It is hard for partisans to cross the aisle and try to work with 'those people'.
Perhaps they can do it; perhaps they cannot. Driving over the fiscal cliff is an option.

RE: Boehner
Something about tax reform that increases revenue. He wouldn't say tax increase. Also says the President must take on programs driving the deficit, meaning Medicare and Social Security, without naming them. Washington-speak.

Let's hope there's some softening for the good of the country.

Precisely, there was NO olive branch in his statement. Tax reform=lower the top rate+widen the base. Widen the base=tax poor people who don't have anything.

It was more of them expecting the President to agree with them and that will still not be compromise because they will simply move the bar gain.

When asked if he would veto any bill that contained an extension of the Bush tax cuts for the rich Obama's simple answer was YES! If they keep saying no to the President and Democrats in Congress I fully expect the President to say yes to the veto.

In other words Boehner made a demand. That's typical of him. He can't be trusted.
