The only thing that kept the Deepwater Horizon spill from being a complete catastrophe for the economy and environment of Florida is that it happened off the coast of Louisiana.

On that coast oil still fouls marshes and inland waters. We were fortunate in that circumstances combined to make the oil that did arrive here less damaging.

It's disappointing to say the least that Gov.-elect Rick Scott has learned nothing from the oil spill. Instead of being pleased that Obama has acted to protect Florida's beaches, he opposes the decision."

rick scott came in a criminal and unfortunately that means too many people who live in Florida don't care.

Here's to all the people including my sister and her family who wanted Alex Sink for their Gov!

Some more commentary on the reversal. We'll have to keep an eye on Alaska since they didn't stop new drilling there. I always thought this was a method to get those southern states to accept responsibility for the drilling decision and consequences. I hope he wasn't trading the gulf for the climate change bill the way this guy suggests. That would be sad.
