Romney: I'll Keep Parts of Obamacare

Source: NewsMax

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, who has called for scrapping President Barack Obama's 2010 U.S. healthcare law, said in remarks aired on Sunday that he likes key parts of "Obamacare" despite his party's loathing of it and wants to retain them.

Romney, who faces Obama in the Nov. 6 election, has vowed throughout the campaign to repeal and replace the Obama healthcare law. But asked about the Obama healthcare law on NBC's "Meet the Press" program, Romney said, "Well, I'm not getting rid of all of healthcare reform."

"Of course, there are a number of things that I like in healthcare reform that I'm going to put in place," Romney added. "One is to make sure that those with pre-existing conditions can get coverage. Two is to assure that the marketplace allows for individuals to have policies that cover their family up to whatever age they might like."

...
Okay, let’s take a step back and look at some comments around the world-wide-web:

chugach: I said this all along and people in the Foxnation forum ridiculed me. Face it people - Obama/Romney Care is here to stay and will only be modified in the future. It will be tweaked and twisted but not repealed so get used to it.

fossilstar1945: The conservatives have not had a candidate in the presidential general election since 1984, and it should be clear by now that they don't have a horse in this year's race. Romney has flipped-flopped on this issue four times in the last 24 hours. Even Paul Ryan doesn't know where he stands anymore.

Rafael Garcia: He better keep his promise or he will surely lose this election, and all is lost. Defeat Obamacare first, then sit down and discuss a new simpler plan (5 pages max).

Bob Russell: Oh, the names you people have called me when I have pointed out what a fraud we have in mitty the poo, the all-white obama. He is a liberal first and so many have blasted me for pointing that out on many occasions. NOW it comes out from his own mouth that we have a marxist liberal and a NWO globalist liberal as our choices in November.

Mrs. Diane L. Logan: He seems to be backtracking and that will cost him the election. Romney claimed he was opposed to the pre-existing provision in his Massachusetts health plan but now seems in favor of it in the Obama Plan. All pre-existing means is that one pays for no health-care until a heath problem arises then they join. This is not a plan but idiocy. No much different than me being allowed to drive without insurance until I get into an accident then get insurance to cover the accident I just had. Those people who want Obama's plan WILL NOT change their minds and vote for Romney no matter how much he tries to appease them. Seems Romney is mimicking Pelosi in that we will not know of the real Romney plan until we read it. What a disastrous way to run a campaign. Seems the same idiots that ran McCain's run are in charge of Romney's.

Bob Russell: Mitty has no intention of winning. The whole ideas, once again, was to prevent a real conservative who would beat Obama from winning the party's nomination.

Oh my, FReeper's are having a bad night ... Happy21

Comments:

Romney is a fool to say this now.

Mark my word Willard will continue to reveal his true self and alienate the base reducing turnout and Obama will win reelection.... you can take it to the bank. He is the worst possible candidate the stupid people in the republican party could have picked for this fight against the left.

The Ryan pick was not to get us on board. it was to destroy him like they did to Palin.

Mitt is another Obama, just slower.

This guy just lost the general election. He just put a huge nail in his coffin ala McCain.

As soon as you realize he does not want to win it all makes sense.

Just went to his site. It wouldn't let me log-in without giving a donation. Stupid is as stupid does.

He has no intention of signing any Tea Party backed legislation to overturn the mandate. mitt's a fag.

Now watch the RINOs fall all over themselves defending this socialist disaster. Reagan warned us about this crap.

Sigh. Why do the wingers resort to calling people they don't like "fags"?

Oh never mind. Rhetorical question.

Ignorant
