<..> ....a Romney aide responded that there had been no change in Romney’s position....

<..> Update
A Romney campaign aide sends a statement to BuzzFeed stating that Romney “will ensure that discrimination against individuals with pre-existing conditions who maintain continuous coverage is prohibited.” This does not mean he supports the protections in Obamacare and would leave millions uninsured.

Sooooo Willard lied to Gregory's face. The continuous coverage will put millions out of luck getting insurance for preexisting conditions.

Funny thing, that's a part of the insurance portability act that Clinton got passed back in the 90s, iirc. I was thinking about that earlier today, Republicans always say they support whatever the status quo is on most social programs - but eveybody forgets that they fought them all when we passed them. Multigenerational delusions.

Mitt Romney, As It Turns Out, Just Might Be Jon Lovitz

by David Badash on September 9, 2012

Mitt Romney is an empty vessel, with neither opinion nor position of his own. At about 11:00 AM ET on Sunday morning’s Meet The Press, Romney made surprisingly positive comments about two of the main and very popular planks of Obamacare: pre-existing condition coverage, and allowing adults up to the age of 26 remaining on their parents’ plans.

“Of course there are a number of things that I like in health care reform that I’m going to put in place,” he said in an interview broadcast Sunday on NBC’s Meet the Press, Mother Jones reported.”One is to make sure that those with pre-existing conditions can get coverage.” Romney also said he would allow young adults to keep their coverage under their parents’ health-insurance.

By 5:00 PM Sunday afternoon, Romney’s handlers had made sure to walk back the mere possibility of Romney supporting any aspect of Obamacare.

<..> Mitt Romney, it turns out, seems like several of Jon Lovitz’s incarnations. You remember Lovitz, who, just like Romney’s various positions, was popular in some crowds, a few decades ago.

Willard is in trouble. His lies are being shown and they are making fun of him now. He is the butt of the jokes.

I continue to find it to be extremely disturbing that Romney/Ryan have to play to a base of American voters who go rabid at the thought of being protected from insurance company abuses and having access to the very same type of healthcare as their anti-government Tea Party representatives -- and through a fully-paid-for program that reduces the deficit at that.

Now it sounds like Mittwit and his party are not even on the same page.
