RE: GOP Inaction Leads to United States Postal Service Default
This was a calculated effort by the GOP to destroy the USPS.
In the wee morning hours of December 8, 2006, the last day of the lame duck Session, the Senate concluded its legislative business with ‘unanimous consent’ adoption of the Postal Accountability and Enhancement Act (PAEA - HR 6407) without any debate or roll call vote.
The Act requires that a $5.8 billion check be written each Sept. 30th to the U.S. Treasury for the next ten years to be deposited into a prepaid health fund for future retirees 75 years in advance! No other Federal agency has such a requirement and without this onerous health fund obligation, the USPS would have been a profit-making agency for the last four years.

You know what? I am going to say it
"Let all of Post Offices close today".....
Hear me out.....you see the Teapugs, Boehner have never truely felt the wrath of the American population. When vital mail, medications, and all businesss transactions come to a complete halt......I am thinking....
Let it happen Republicans.......

I couldn't agree more. They want to jump off and cliff and think it will help the country...well...if this is their cliff I think they are right because this issue would show everyone the results their policies would bring.
I certainly wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of angry granny that didn't get her weekly TV Guide or National Enquirer.

Let's see. I still get bills in the mail (haven't gone completely paperless), DMV bills/stickers for my car. Catalogs. Jury Duty notice. My Obama2012 car magnet came yesterday. Many small businesses ship their products via USPS. Our company gets CHECKS from clients in the mail.

Just yesterday I got my yearly reminder from the local BOE of my polling place, ward number, etc. through normal mail delivery.
