He has such a nasty smirk on his face in the picture being used by the news media. It's as though he knows what evil he is about to perpetrate. I wish they'd stop giving him the attention of having his face all over the tv.

I can't even watch.

There are so many things I want them to scream from the rooftops and instead they are all trying to beat each other to an interview with the shooters kindergarten classmates.

I so much wanted Chris Matthews to have Gohmert or LaPierre across the desk from him and slap them will they yell uncle. Instead I got Ron Reagan, who I really like but we didn't get hard hitting.

I can't watch.

I liked what Reagan had to say at the end of the show but don't ask me to quote it.
This whole mess is even filling up the local news. There will be extra security at theaters and no one will be permitted to enter with costumes or anything resembling a weapon. It's about time for that rule.

I say to hell with the shooter. There is no rhyme or reason for what these lunatics do and trying to find a purpose is a waste of time. But to focus so much on them, only encourages other to do the same. The shooters shouldn't ever have their name or face shown. No attention for them, only the victims. Maybe it would discourage other psychos who want the notoriety.

I didn't mean to go off about Ron. I'm sure he did fine.

It's just the focus just seems so off to me. The chance to change the gun culture away from a no holds barred free-for-all for gun dealers and the NRA to promoting hunting and gun safety and responsibility is at times like this. Instead the media has been cowed into a fear of being made to seen exploitative by the NRA which will then themselves exploit this tragedy to promote themselves.

Not one of the guns that guy had was a hunting gun. He had no legitimate reason to own a complete set of armor as if he was on a swat team.

You'd think the NRA would be in favor of some restrictions to keep things like this from happening. Every time mass murders occur it increases the chance that very tough rules may be called for. Of course, this would make too much sense to ever happen. The NRA would rather cow everyone into submission, and push to allow the average citizen to have rocket launchers and nuclear weapons any one of which would be ideal for home defense ya know.

RE: I'm already sick of seeing pics of the CO theater shooter
One thing about psychotic murderers is that they love, absolutely relish, what they do. That comes from their psyche. How it manifests itself in the world could well be influenced by popular media, perhaps the reason druggies "think" they're zombies today instead of superman like we did in the 70s. I don't know. But there's nothing the media can do, one way or the other, to stop these psychos. The only thing is to figure out how they are created in the first place.

And for movie theatres to put in any changes in security is absurd.

Two reasons for more security this weekend: One, there could be copycats. Slim chance but enough for theaters to not take a chance. Two, $$$$. People may stay away from theaters on a big summer weekend out of fear.

Copycats was the first thing I thought of.

I agree with this weekend and for this particular movie. I thought they meant we were going to have to be going through metal detectors or some crazy thing like that... permanently.
