Foot Shooting, round III
Ah, perfect. 5 Dems, 5 Repugs calling for an investigation of this woman for helping a kidney transplant recipient. No coincidence, of course, that she is a Democrat locked in one of the tightest campaigns in the country.

And we expect the Democrats in the mix to do their diligence in assisting the Repugs to turn this into the proper distraction to trash her campaign. After all, we have to avoid all appearances of misconduct now, don't we.

RE: Foot Shooting, round III
Well - not exactly. She helped save a kidney transplant center in Nevada that was killing people - and is also connected to her husband who is one of the few nephrologists in Nevada. This is one of those situations where there probably is no "there" there - but I recall Lieberman's wife taking a lot of heat because she works in the insurance industry. So what's good for one is good for another I guess, although of course there was no ethics inquiry.

I find the need for Medicare interesting, on the third page I think. When doctors aren't crying for more Medicare to stay in business - they're talking about how it just costs them money and they'll have to stop taking Medicare patients to stay in business.

That's interesting...the transplant center was killing people? Sounds kind of strange.

Well read the article.

You must mean follow the link within the article cited in the OP. The link to the NYT http://www.nytimes.com/2011/09/06/us/06b...ted=1&_r=1 .

I just read the NYT and did see the hospital was cited for some reasons but the doctor wasn't.

Yes - when I read an article, I also read what the article is referencing and if that article doesn't adequately answer questions, I go to source material as well. I assume, (shame on me), that other liberals, who claim superior intelligence and education, do the same.

The doctor, (Berkley's husband) is part owner of the transplant center and a number of dialysis centers in Nevada, that contribute A LOT to her campaigns.

"Mr. Rowlett’s death and four recent others in the first year after the surgery, as well as 10 transplant failures, were part of a troubling pattern — the death and failure rates were more than twice the expected level. That led the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to issue an order to revoke the certification for the hospital’s transplant program — which does about 50 transplants a year — and cut off Medicare financing, effectively shutting the program down."

Why does it seem
you are always focusing your wraith on the Democrats. Isn't there enough GOP and Right Wingers to go after?

I like to keep our own house clean so that we have a better shot at accomplishing that.

How is that? You are calling out the Democrats for investigating possible wrong doings of a fellow Democrat. I

If only they were so anxious to go after the opposition. There would be something.
