Red states refusing to help their residents have worst percentages of uninsured

Came across this excellent resource for getting an overview of just which states are at the bottom of the scale in providing healthcare to their residents - not surprisingly, virulently red states show up very often:

Bobby Jindal is an absolutely horrible person and politician. In health care, he's trying to privatize the State Employees Health Insurance system, because he claims the private sector will do a better, more efficient job. Which might be more arguable if the State Employees System didn't have a $500 million surplus. Which BTW, Jindal plans to allow the private insurers to reap the benefits of, without even returning any of it to the State.

Just one thing I'd note about the high percentage of uninsured in Louisiana--which is that Louisiana has long had a system of Charity hospitals, founded long ago and administered since 1970 by LSU Med School. These are different than the hospitals which accept indigent patients in most states, that are under local control, as the Louisiana hospitals it have been a hospital system with university affiliations. Many of those who are low income and uninsured have relied on the Charity system for their care.

But none of that has anything to do with Bobby Jindal.
